Quick and Deep Research Insights: Scinapse Research Intelligence Update Redefines Data Exploration
What is ‘Research Intelligence’ in Scinapse?
When conducting research, there are often moments when you need to systematically identify papers and researchers in a specific field.
Have you ever wanted to analyze paper data based on a specific countries or institutions? Or systematically explore researchers and publications in a particular field? This is exactly where Scinapse’s Research Intelligence comes in.
Scinapse’s Research Intelligence, a core feature of Scinapse.io and frequently highlighted in the Scinapse Trends Series, is designed to provide a clear and intuitive overview of research trends. It goes beyond merely listing papers by enabling users to analyze fields, authors, and publications with precision and efficiency. Whether you’re exploring a niche topic or examining an entire discipline, Research Intelligence serves as a powerful companion for targeted and insightful analysis according to your research objectives.
With this Research Intelligence feature described above, you can quickly access key insights through the Summary tab, including:
- PAPER SET QUALITY & QUANTITY
- RECENT LEADING RESEARCHERS
- TOP ORIGINAL PAPERS
- TOP AFFILIATIONS
- TOP COUNTRIES
This feature enables users to effectively explore specific fields, authors, or papers with simple searches and targeted analysis.
Beyond basic paper searches, it provides structured details essential for gaining academic insights.
(More in-depth analytical data is available in each tab.)
Enhanced Search Experience with Country/Affiliation Filters
Previously, many users shared feedback that ‘it was difficult to isolate research from specific regions or institutions because all researchers and affiliations were displayed together’. Now, with the newly added Country and Affiliation filters in the highly used Top Papers and Top Authors tabs, you can narrow down the Top 100 results by specific countries or institutions to find relevant papers or researchers more effectively.
For example, if you're looking for:
- Researchers in Korea working on semiconductor packaging
- Research outputs from a specific institution in this field
From Identifying Trends to Strategic Applications
This update and filter isn’t just about improving search convenience. It also provides support for analyzing regional research trends or identifying institutions and researchers for potential collaborations.
For instance:
- Which countries are advancing in a specific technology area?
- What are the key institutions driving progress in this field?
These filters help you answer such questions more effectively with clear, focused data.
[💡Tips]
In addition to the newly updated filters, all filters in Research Intelligence (RI) analyze the citation relationships within the filtered group of papers, helping you identify influential top papers, authors, and affiliations based on your search objectives and topics.
This is what sets Research Intelligence apart from other search tools.
Typically, citation data includes a mix of various fields and contexts, making it difficult to accurately assess real influence in a specific area. However, by analyzing citation relationships within a filtered paper group in RI, you can precisely determine the influence of a paper or author within a specific field, topic, or context.
As a result:
- Researchers can quickly identify the most relevant papers or authors to their work.
- You can more accurately analyze competitive authors or institutions by focusing on specific research topics.
If you need to narrow down your analysis, use the RI filters to refine your search criteria and gain deeper insights!🪄
Scinapse continues to enhance features for efficient research exploration—try the new filters to easily explore data tailored to your interests or find out emerging trends in research! 🚀
